Description
Bloodborne pathogen prevention certification is for any individual that is reasonably anticipating in being exposed to blood or other potentially infectious material while on the job. As per the CDC, there are three bloodborne pathogens that workers facing blood may be at risk of contracting; these are Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis A, and Hepatitis B. An individual that has received bloodborne pathogens training must know the following: precautions for procedures on handling equipment used in drawing blood, procedures for dealing with exposure to blood, limiting the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens, handling human blood products, identifying hazardous organisms.
