Description

The Culinary Arts certification, Culinary Foundations, gives learners the skills they need to be qualified for in demand jobs in the hospitality and culinary arts career cluster and be prepared to grow with the industry. The Culinary Foundations exam certifies that a candidate has successfully demonstrated the essential knowledge and skills necessary to work professionally in an entry-level position as a cook in a commercial kitchen. This certification shows that individuals demonstrate essential skills and knowledge in the principles of food safety and sanitation, recipe execution, and time management. A candidate who earns this certification will be qualified for positions such as cook, sous-chef, short order cook, line cook, and/or prep cooks.
